Latin Dance Festival 6:00PM @ Global Education Center - Friday, May 30th-1st 2014
Join us for the Global Education Center's 17th annual Latin Dance Festival featuring workshops in Salsa and Argentine Tango with visiting guest artists Franklin Liranzo from New York and Rick and Lynda Wilson from Atlanta, as well as additional workshops with local artists (Latin contemporary; Flamenco; and Capoeira) as well as nightly dance socials. Friday night the festival kicks off at 6 pm with Triple Threat Zumba followed by our World Dance Party featuring four thirty-minute mini classes in various dance styles. Saturday night the event moves to the Global Education Center's satellite studio located in Casa Azafran Community Center for a tango milonga and a salsa social, featuring the music of Revolfusion and performances by Sentir el Ritmo, Music City Salsa, Grupo Balanca Capoeira, Rick and Lynda Wilson and Franklin Liranzo, with introductory salsa and tango classes opening the socials at 8 pm. On Sunday night bring the family for a Family Fiesta at the Global Education Center on Charlotte Avenue to dance the night away to the music of Mucho Corazon (6 to 8 pm). This event is ALWAYS a hit with outstanding instructors and a welcoming and fun environment for dancers of all levels! Prices vary: $75 all festival pass; $5 for Zumba and Sunday night social; $10 for Saturday socials; $10 for World Dance Party; $10 for introductory workshops; $25 for one guest artists' workshop; $60 for three.

Special edition this year: A Kids Latin Festival on Saturday at the Global Education Center's studio at Casa Azafran Community Center. From noon to 3 pm, children can experience Latin hip hop; flamenco; folkloric; capoeira; and Latin drumming, all for $5 for the day.
