Beginner classes are designed for those new to tango, who had some exposure to tango and everyone wanting to polish their technique. The classes will continue on a weekly basis and will be progressive, meaning each class will build upon what was learned/covered in a class the week prior. Free Argentine tango lesson and dance party (milonga). No partner necessary. No experience necessary.

7:00 Doors open. Come relax and unwind! Grab a beverage and prep for an awesome dance night! 

7:30 Free beginners Argentine tango lesson. Come and have fun learning! (We have invited experienced tangueros from Nashville's tango community to take the class with you and help you.) 

8:30-11:00 Tango dance party (milonga) – This will be an Alternative Milonga* with DJ Marshal Capps.

*What’s an Alternative Milonga? It’s a tango social dance event where neotango, nuevo tango and contemporary tango music is played as well as some music not usually associated with tango.

Argentine tango is a vibrant and playful dance between two people. It has a rich potential for expression, improvisation and connection and is danced in both modern and traditional styles. It is often described as a passionate dance, because of the close connection partners can have, the character of the music, and also relating to some of the dance's history.

PARKING: There is usually free parking on the street in front of Play Dance Bar on Church Street or just around the corner on 16th Ave. There is also a free parking lot on McMillan Street near the corner of Church Street.
