Have you been wanting to learn Argentine tango or just add a little spice to your tango moves? Come to Play Dance Bar this Thursday for the FREE beginners class with Sarah Bystrom and Ramzi Mardam Bey of the Vanderbilt Tango Club or the advance class with Mike East of Tango Gypies from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Stay after class to practice what you've learned and hear the music of our DJ Marshall Capps!

There are two bars at Play. Our event is in the bar to the right with the big dance floor. You can usually find parking on the street.

Enjoy free Argentine dance lessons featuring the Nashville Tango Club instructors/ No partner or experience necessary. Dance the night away until 10:30 p.m.

7:30-8:30 pm Free beginning Argentine tango dance lesson by Nashville Tango Club instructor Anna Kovalkova . An advanced/intermediate class with Nashville Tango Club's MariaPia De Pasquale take place at the same time.

No partner or experience necessary. Afterward, try out what you have learned on the dance floor for the next 2 hours.

8:30-10:30 pm The milonga begins. MariaPia will be our DJ!

What is a milonga? It is a tango social dance event. This milonga will feature a variety of tango music including neotango, nuevo tango, some contemporary and traditional tango music, as well as some music not usually associated with tango.

Argentine tango is a vibrant and playful dance between two people. It has a rich potential for expression, improvisation and connection and is danced in both modern and traditional styles. It is often described as a passionate dance, because of the close connection partners can have, the character of the music, and also relating to some of the dance's history.

PARKING: There is usually free parking on the street right in front of Play Dance Bar on Church Street or just around the corner on 16th Ave. There is also a free parking lot on McMillan Street near the corner of Church Street.

Note: After 9pm, Play Dance Bar sometimes cards people at the door so bring ID. Let them know you there to attend the free the tango event. If any employee tells you there is a cover, text Tanya at the phone number above. She will come out to assist you.

7:30 Free beginners Argentine tango lesson. Come and have fun learning! (We have invited experienced tangueros from Nashville's tango community to take the class with you and help you.) 

8:30-10:30 Tango dance party (milonga) – This will be an Alternative Milonga* with DJ
