If you are new to salsa, Salsa 101 is designed with you in mind. Each week, we will review the fundamental techniques of salsa, working to perfect our basic step, cross body lead, and right hand turn. We will also learn how to add styling and body movement to our dancing to get our moves flowing more smoothly and naturally. We will end each class by applying these techniques to a simple turn pattern adding more variety to your dance repertoire. The goal is to help you build a strong foundation of salsa techniques that will last you a lifetime with this highly addictive dance. This class happens every Monday at 6:30pm at Miss Fit Academy. After mastering the basics, graduates of Salsa 101 can look forward to joining the Salsa 201 class at 7:30pm, learning more complex combinations and really taking their dancing to the next level. Each week, we will conquer a new, fun turn pattern and then go back to review moves we covered in previous lessons always building off what we've learned and reinforcing good leading and following skills. We will end every class by showing you how these moves also work in a rueda with fast-paced partner changes and fun group tricks. So much variety in one little hour. You don't want to miss it! Casino Rueda Bootcamp with Chino Casino 1:00PM @ Ibiza Night Club - Saturday, February 7th, 2015
On Saturday, February 7th, Nashville will host a great casino rueda instructor from Atlanta named Michael Yi aka "Chino Casino." Casino rueda is a fun Cuban style of dancing salsa where everyone does the same turn pattern and then changes partners. The first hour will be a review covering the basic skills that you will need to get the rueda going. The second hour will cover new rueda turns patterns that Chino loves to do with his group in Atlanta. Finally, the last hour will be advanced casino partner work where you learn how to dance casino outside of the circle with your partner on the dance floor.
For this bootcamp, it would be helpful if you know how to do your basic step and cross body lead, but all levels are welcome. NO PARTNER NECESSARY.
Chino has taught in salsa festivals all over the southeast and we are so excited to finally have him in Nashville. It's just $30 for this intensive bootcamp, so I hope to see you there!

Due to the overwhelming demand for “Private Lessons on a Budget with Michael and Natalie”, it was necessary to change our pricing. Starting January 1, 2015, a la carte lessons will be $30 (individual) and $40 (couple), but we are also offering the opportunity to purchase one of our 15 V.I.P. Packages. A V.I.P. Package is a prepaid bundle of 5 lessons for only $100. That comes out to $20 per lesson, and you can use that same price for an individual or couple.
What are the benefits of the V.I.P. Private Lesson Package?:
First choice for time slots before the private lesson times are announced to the public.
Private lessons are taught two weekends per month, so you can plan in advance.
Keep the $20 rate for all of 2015.

4 Hour Casino Rueda Bootcamp 1:00PM @ Miss Fit Academy - Saturday, November 1st, 2014
Saturday, November 1st we will be having another 4-Hour Casino Rueda Bootcamp. This bootcamp was a huge success last year and we are excited to be doing it again this year. Casino rueda is a fun Cuban style of salsa where everyone does the same turn pattern and then changes partners. Our bootcamp will take you from knowing nothing about casino rueda to learning 30 different rueda turn patterns that you can do with your partner or with a group of people in a rueda.
The first two hours, we will cover the basics of getting a rueda going. We will review moves like dame, adios, enchufla, el uno, and candado. You will learn the meanings, hand signals, and how to execute each more easily as you change partners.
In the second two hours, you will learn how to build more complex turn patterns off of the vacila, a uniquely Cuban way of getting into a turn pattern. We will then cover more complex moves like sombrero, setenta, and balsero. You will also learn how to call a rueda yourself so that where ever you and your friends go, you can have a rueda.
For this bootcamp, it would be helpful if you know how to do your basic step and cross body lead, but all levels are welcome. NO PARTNER NECESSARY.
After the bootcamp, we hope to have a flashmob rueda somewhere around town and later that evening around 10pm we can meet up a Salsa Restaurant for open dancing.
