Several of you have come to me & asked me about the rhythms, different styles of music and how they're applied musically.
This is FREE & open to the public TODAY.
I'm going to be teaching a class, with a few friends, for musicians and dancers but open to EVERYONE. It will be Today(Wednesday the 14th) at the Nashville Musicians Association from 6-8pm. The event link is below.
The focus will be for musicians, dancers and others to understand the approach on feeling the clave & popular Afro-Caribbean polyrhythms in the music. I will focus on the more common popular rhythms, introduce the instruments, demonstrate what to listen for musically, teach what repetitive pattern to listen for in the music and, why it's hard for musicians that aren't as familiar with the styles to find the one and not get lost while playing. So, those are the things I'm going to try to tackle. I want you all to bring your instruments & dancing shoes.
